Silvia's Garden


Silvia's Garden was inspired by the beautiful laces of Estonia.  Silvia is a variation of the much loved Lily of the Valley pattern, and the intention was to create a design for those who would like to try their hand at this unique lace without committing to a traditional shawl or scarf.

Finished Size: Women's Medium (approximately 21" circumference)

Yarn Requirements: Forbidden Woolery Hope (100% Merino Wool, 875 yards/100 grams) 1 skein each: color A Monarch (lining), color B Archangel's Wings (lace)

Gauge: 32 sts over 4" worked in stockinette stitch in the round.

Needles: US 2 (3.00 mm) dpns & 16" circular (40" circular for Magic Loop method), US 1 (2.25 mm) dpns & 16" circular (40" circular for Magic Loop method) or size needed to obtain gauge).  TIP: for the lace you will want a very pointed needle tip to aid in working the nupps.


June Muhme is the mother of one adult son and lives with her husband in Indiana, where she has taught lace knitting and color work classes.  Her other fiber interest include spinning, crochet, needle felting, needle lace, and Boutis.
